'Pinterest with a Purpose' turns social network into social

This weekend women can join together to stand up for a cause, while sitting down to craft. You can head to Life Community Church from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday with your favorite Pinterest appetizer in hand to share. Organizers say they wanted to pair the social media site with a good cause. All the crafts you create will be sold to benefit a local shelter. Everyone will find something fun to make. "Things that are simple, anyone can do and then things for those who love to craft it up, they'll have a challenge in what they love to do, too," Pinterest with a Purpose's Erin Blair said.
